Pretty Pictures

On June 12th, Kaitlyn was spending the night with a friend and Dan was like "Why don't we go for a car ride?" So Dan, Chloe, Kyle and I got in the car he drove out to this little park out in the Silver Lake area and we went over to the water and he took these pretty pictures of Chloe by the water. He also gave me an early anniversary present. He gave me a ring with all three of the kids birthstones in it. It is very pretty and I love it!

Gymnastics

Chloe started gymnastics on June 11th. It is through the city, but it is held at Reflex and she loves it! Here are a few pictures of her first class.

Kaitlyn - Soccer Camp

Kaitlyn has soccer camp this week at the high school. It is every day from 8 am - 11 am. She is learning new skills and getting some good exercise. We also signed her up for an indoor soccer league today. She will have her first game this coming Saturday. Here are a couple of pictures from soccer camp:

Update on our Little Man and New Pictures

Well we were released from the hospital on Sunday afternoon. Still not sure exactly what is going on with the little man. We were seen by an infectious disease doctor, plastic surgery and dermatology. They are pretty sure that it is not an infection and dermatology thinks it is some sort of skin disorder. Not sure exactly what because they have not been able to biopsy it yet. We will follow up with Dermatology on Thursday down in Galveston and hopefully they will clear us. Here are a few pictures over the past few days.

Update from UTMB

First of all here are the pictures of Kyle's feet over the last week.

This is what his heel looked like the day we brought him home.

And his heel, toes and finger yesterday when we arrived at UTMB.
He got his IV placed last night around 10 pm and received his first dose of antibiotics. He is receiving them every 6 hours and we are putting antibiotic ointment on it as well. He is not running a fever, he is feeding well and other than his bobos he is acting completely normal. After only 2 doses of antibiotics we can already see a difference in his heel. It looks like it is trying to scab like his toes have already done. So we are hopeful that this stay will not end up being too long. We are waiting on the infectious disease doctor to come by and hopefully we will have a better idea of what the plan is after that. Here are a few more pictures of our stay so far.

Catching Up

Well this is going to be a bit lengthy because I want to catch up from the last week. Things have been a bit crazy as you know so I have not had a chance to update the site much.

Kaitlyn's Last Day of First Grade

Kaitlyn's last day of school was Thursday. Here are a few pictures from her end of the year party. They had hot dogs and cupcakes and played limbo. She had a great time.

Here are some crazy pictures of the week. Chloe is playing in Kyle's carseat, Harley is very jealous (see him on my right shoulder), Kyle says it is too loud, Kyle being cute and his first nap in the swing.

1 Week Old Today

Well, Kyle is 1 week old today and what a week it has been. This evening we were admitted to UTMB down in Galveston because of a possible infection. I will download some pictures in a little while. Last Saturday when we were still in the hospital I noticed a few little areas on Kyle's left foot and I pointed them out to his nurse. I thought that they were from his name bands. He kicks his feet a lot and I thought he had scratched his foot. Then I was discharged on Sunday and he stayed for phototherapy. When I returned to feed him that evening I noticed that most of the skin was missing off of both of his big toes. I asked the nurse about and she gave me an explanation that did not make sense. When we returned the next morning to bring him home we noticed that the skin was missing from his right heel. The nurse said that our pediatrician had seen it and was concerned and we were to follow up with him the next day. So we did and he started Kyle on oral antibiotics and a topical antibiotic. We followed up again today and his heel is worse and Dr. Binder (by the way he is the best pediatrician ever!) said that he wanted to admit Kyle for IV antibioitcs and a plastics (plastic surgery doctor) consult. So we are here at UTMB. Not my first choice, but I trust Dr. Binder and I know that he would not send us here if he did not think they would take good care of our little man. I will keep everyone updated via the blog and I will download some pictures in a little while. Please keep all of us in your prayers and include the girls because they are being shifted all around again after being shifted around last week when Kyle made his way into this crazy world. Thanks!
