Soccer, Pool Parties, Lemonade Stands and Baseball

Last night was the last game of the current soccer session at Horizon Indoor Soccer. Chloe did well except she kept forgetting that she is not supposed to use her hands. Kaitlyn did a great job and played very hard. She is going to get to play a "real" game against another team on the BIG field sometime in the next couple of weeks. She is very excited! We have not decided yet about whether she is going to play the fall season with Pearland United or if we are going to keep her at Horizon. After soccer we headed to our annual Homebuilders (our Life Group at church) Pool Party. Everyone had a blast! Chloe started jumping off the side of the pool towards the end and letting her head go under water (this is BIG deal!!). Then today the girls decided to have a Lemonade stand in the front yard. They only made $3.45, but they had a blast. Dan went to the Astros game today with his Dad. Unfortunately they lost, but he had a great time and he brought back little plastic Astros caps for each of the kiddos. It was a fun weekend!! VBS starts tomorrow night so it is going to be a busy week!

8 Weeks

Things Kyle likes at 8 weeks:
He finally enjoys swinging in his swing.
He loves to go for a jog in the new jogging stroller (I purchased it with my birthday money).
Making noises and an occasional smile. He has a very cute dimple in his right cheek. (I have not been able to catch it with the camera yet, but I am going to keep trying)

God's Squad are #1!!!!

The softball team that Dan plays on won the championship last night!!! Most of the guys on the team are from our church and have been playing together for several years. This is their first championship and they one the championship game 14-6. It was a GREAT game and they played very hard. They received a trophie, t-shirts and free entry into the city tournament in August. All of the wives are very proud.
Go God's Squad!!!!!!!

Birthdays and Praise Baby

Well today is Kyle's 7 week birthday and my 31st birthday. We are just spending a quiet day at home and then going out to dinner with family this evening. So far the girls have kept their promise of behaving for me on my birthday! Here is Kyle's 7 week picture. He is sitting in his new bumbo chair and watching/listening to Praise Baby which I highly recommend. I only have one of the DVDs, but it is great and I plan to buy all of them. It is like Baby Einstein but with Praise and Worship music. Check it out at http://www.praisebaby.com/

First Trip to the Wave Pool

The girls and I went to the LaPorte Wave Pool today with some friends from Homebuilders. Kaitlyn was the first one in and the last one out! She absolutely loved it!!! Chloe on the other hand hated until the last 10 minutes that we were there. She literally screamed at the top of her lungs everytime I tried to get her in the water. It was CRAZY!!! I finally convinced to sit in my lap while I sat in an inner tube. She really enjoyed that. Not she says she wants to go back. If you follow the Allen Insider Blog then you may have already seen these pictures because I borrowed them from her page, but for those of you who don't then enjoy!

Happy July 4th!!!

We celebrated July 4th with my parents and extended family this year. We had hamburgers and hot dogs and lots of other food to go along with them. We walked down to the front of my parents neighborhood to watch the city's firework display. Chloe did not like the noise as usual. We had a great time spending time with family! Here is a picture of the crew for July 4th.

5 weeks, new noises and losing the baby weight!

It is hard to believe it has already been 5 weeks, but it has. Kyle made his first "noise" yesterday that was not a cry or a grunt. I don't really know how to describe it, but it was just different. This week at the doctor he weighed 8 lbs and 7 ounces. He eats like crazy and I cannot quite keep up so he gets a few formula bottles each day. Also as a side note I have started running again this week. I am doing the couch to 5K program to slowly work my way back to where I was prior to getting pregnant and then I will begin to train for the half marathon again. Pray for me as it is tough to get into it again, but I am determined to get rid of his baby weight as quick as possible! Here are his 5 week pictures:

First nap in his crib - I think he likes it!

Our Kid Quotes

Kaitlyn came into the living room the other night and said:
"I know I am not this age and I am not Spanish but can I have a quinceanera?" I told her no because we are not hispanic and we don't have those and she said "Well neither is George Lopez". Enough said, she is crazy!

Then Chloe was talking to Dan on the phone and our phone echos sometimes. She came and handed me the phone and said "Some girl is talking to Daddy while I am trying to talk to him!" She was really confused why some other girl was talking to her daddy.
